City of Adelaide Street Light Motifs

City of Adelaide (Supply Package x 2)

Dec the Malls partnered with the City of Adelaide to deliver a striking suite of illuminated Christmas street pole light motifs that brought festive energy to the city centre and North Adelaide. Installed across key streets in 2024 and 2025, the decorations created a cohesive Christmas atmosphere throughout the city.

Features

We added some sparkle to the streets of Adelaide over the last two years, enhancing the city’s festive celebrations across multiple precincts. Stunning, light motif decorations were installed along key streets through the city centre and North Adelaide to create a vibrant and unified Christmas atmosphere, drawing residents and visitors to the city during the holiday season.

The City of Adelaide engaged Dec the Malls to supply a suite of Christmas motif lighting for installation in King William St, Pulteney St, and Victoria Square. The following year, this was extended further to illuminate additional streets. The decorations were required to present a cohesive festive theme and be visually appealing during both day and night. As outdoor decorations, it was also imperative that they withstand the elements, including sun, wind, and rain.

Highlights of this project included:

  • Festive Bauble Motif Lights: We initially supplied 50 stunning bauble motif lights installed along King William St, Pulteney St and Victoria Square, creating a unified visual experience throughout the city centre. The following year, a further 30 bauble motifs were supplied to extend the festive coverage through the CBD to Grote St, expanding the impact of the display.
  • Complementary Tree Motif Lights: To complement the bauble motifs, in the second year, we also supplied 40 iconic Christmas Tree motifs in the same visual style. These were installed along O’Connell St in North Adelaide, creating a cohesive festive identity across both precincts.
  • Design Details: Each motif measured 2.5m high x 1.4m wide and featured bright red tinsel mat on a gold framework, providing both visual and physical resilience. The mounting systems were designed specifically to ensure efficient installation by Council’s in-house staff.
  • Client Collaboration: Once the client selected their preferred designs, we collaborated with them to further refine the motifs and ensure they suited the city’s streetscapes and installation requirements.
  • Durability and Warranty: All motifs were designed for outdoor conditions and supplied with a two-year warranty and repair period, providing peace of mind and long-term value.

The glittering baubles and complementary tree motifs transformed the streets of Adelaide and North Adelaide, creating a magical Christmas backdrop for residents and visitors. They delivered a strong visual impact both day and night, while the durable construction ensured they maintained their vibrant appearance throughout the festive season.

  2. Durability is Essential: High-quality materials ensure decorations remain pristine throughout the season and across multiple years.
  3. Consistent Themes Create Impact: Using complementary motifs across different precincts helps create a cohesive festive experience throughout the city.
