Jingle All the Way – Community Event

City of Gosnells, 2022-25 (Event Hire, Installation and Removal)

Dec the Malls has partnered with the City of Gosnells since 2022 to help bring their annual Christmas event, Jingle All the Way, to life. Each year, our team has delivered creative, immersive installations that enhance the visitor experience and support the City’s goal of delivering a standout Christmas celebration for the community.

Features

The City of Gosnells is a rapidly growing local government area in Perth’s south-east, home to a diverse and multicultural community. The City delivers a wide range of programs, services, and events that support community connection, inclusion, and wellbeing. Jingle All the Way is its flagship Christmas event, attracting families from across the region for an evening of entertainment, performances, and festive activities in a welcoming outdoor setting.

The Brief

Each year, the City of Gosnells requires a suite of immersive Christmas activations to support Jingle All the Way. The displays need to provide the perfect backdrop for the festive performances and roving Christmas characters who lead visitors on a fun-filled journey through the park to the main concert stage.

The brief focuses on creating a welcoming and engaging environment that:

  • Encourages community connection and shared experiences
  • Provides accessible, family-friendly interactions for all ages
  • Delivers memorable festive moments through visual impact and participation
  • Activates Centennial Pioneer Park as a vibrant event space
  • Supports high visitor numbers within a single evening event format

Our Solution

Dec the Malls has designed and delivered a varied collection of installations to guide visitors through this special festive journey while also supporting interaction and participation.

Each element is positioned to contribute to a connected event experience, encouraging movement through the park and creating opportunities for families to explore, gather, and engage.

Key features delivered across the partnership included:

  • Santa sets, with a different theme each year
  • A Christmas candy-themed hedge maze designed to engage children and families in active play
  • Immersive environments such as a winter wonderland, reindeer grove, elf garden, and Grinch’s grotto, supporting storytelling and exploration
  • A wide network of selfie stations and interactive props, driving participation and shared experiences
  • Large-scale decorations, including a feature Christmas tree and illuminated feature displays to anchor key areas

For the 2025 event, our team worked closely with the City of Gosnells to design and deliver some new experiences, including:

  • A custom-designed log cabin Santa set, offering a warm and inviting photo experience
  • A reindeer stable hosting multiple plush reindeer in a hay-strewn enclosure
  • A Snow Queen area featuring snowy trees, an icy throne and polar animals

Delivery of the event is carefully planned in line with the City’s event schedule and broader site operations. Installation and bump-out are coordinated alongside multiple contractors delivering staging, lighting, and other event infrastructure.

This requires a high level of flexibility, as installation and dismantling sequences are often dependent on other contractors completing their work before access is available. Our team works collaboratively on-site to ensure all activities are carried out efficiently and with minimal disruption to others.

Safety is a key priority throughout all stages of delivery. All works are undertaken in accordance with the City’s safety requirements, along with Dec the Malls’ own standards and procedures, ensuring a safe environment for contractors, staff, and the public.

Outcome

The event continues to play an important role in bringing the community together. The installations help create an environment where visitors can connect, participate, and share in a collective festive experience.

Dec the Malls’ contribution has supported several key outcomes:

  • Strengthening the event’s role as a large-scale, inclusive community celebration
  • Delivering accessible and engaging experiences for families from diverse backgrounds
  • Encouraging interaction and movement throughout the park, increasing dwell time and participation
  • Helping to activate Centennial Pioneer Park as a high-performing event space

The 2025 delivery demonstrated the ability to design and execute a complex, single-day event at scale during the peak Christmas period. It also highlights our strong capability in coordinating logistics, working alongside multiple contractors, and delivering safe, efficient bump-in and bump-out operations within a live event environment.
