Rosebery Engine Yards is a contemporary, design-led destination that blends retail, dining, and lifestyle offerings within a carefully curated precinct. The centre attracts a discerning customer base and is home to predominantly Australian-owned brands and businesses. Our seasonal activation needed to feel intentional, refined, and brand-aligned to reinforce the precinct’s identity.
The Brief
Given the centre’s strong architectural identity and market positioning, Christmas decorations needed to enhance the asset without dominating it—adding warmth, ambience, and visual interest while maintaining a clean, modern aesthetic.
The client brief requested a premium festive decoration solution delivered on a one-year hire basis, as on-site storage capacity was limited. The scope also required:
- Decorations appropriate for a premium retail environment
- A cohesive design solution that worked across multiple malls
- Discreet fixing and cabling to preserve visual cleanliness
- Installation and dismantle completed outside asset operational hours to minimise disruption to tenants and customers
- Full compliance with electrical and safety standards
Our Solution
Our solution focused on creating consistency, scale, and elegance across the precinct while remaining operationally efficient. We provided lush green swag garlands and wreaths, decorated in a rich gold colour palette and installed them throughout the malls and running the full length of the asset to create visual rhythm and continuity across the space. This approach ensured a strong festive presence.
Key elements included:
- Hire of sixteen dressed and lit 2.7m swag garlands and two feature wreaths for the narrower mall space
- Reflective gold garland poles, to enhance light reflection and elevate the presentation
- Mixed-finish gold baubles (matte and high shine) to add depth and texture on both the garlands and wreaths
- Warm white steady LED lighting with a subtle 10% warm white flash component, introducing movement while retaining sophistication
- Black suspension cables and black power cables, allowing all technical elements to visually disappear into the environment
- Transport to and from the site for all decorative elements
- Professional installation and removal, undertaken outside of asset operational hours
- All required plant and equipment
- Electrical testing and tagging of all components prior to installation to ensure full compliance
The one-year hire model eliminated the need for on-site storage and provided the client with a seamless, low-maintenance festive solution.
Outcome
The completed installation delivered a refined and cohesive Christmas atmosphere across Rosebery Engine Yards, enhancing both daytime and evening trade and supporting the centre’s premium aesthetic. The swag garlands and wreaths created scale and continuity throughout the malls, while the warm gold palette and subtle lighting effects added seasonal warmth and visual sophistication.
All works were completed efficiently, safely, and outside of trading hours, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. The hire and dismantle model provided a cost-effective and practical solution aligned with the client’s logistical constraints.
The project successfully reinforced Rosebery Engine Yards’ positioning as a premium destination while delivering a festive experience that felt considered, contemporary, and on-brand.
